Kate Briggs grew up in Rye, NY where her love for horticulture developed at an early age.

Her passion grew from spending time in the garden and enjoying family trips to world-class conservatories and gardens. She earned a degree in plant science with a concentration in horticulture while at the University of Connecticut. She has continued her education with classes at the renowned New York Botanical Garden and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.

In addition to her education, Kate's portfolio includes extensive experience in a variety of environments. Early on, she assisted the senior greens-keeper at the distinguished Greenwich Country Club and went on to manage private estates. She also developed her skills in flower shops, nurseries, greenhouses and a myriad of landscape companies. Along the way, Kate has shared her expertise with many well-satisfied clients. 

Kate founded Briggs Landscape Design to express her philosophy of landscape design, which is centered on the belief that the landscape is an extension of a welcoming home environment as well as an expression of the homeowner's unique style. She believes in creating well-designed, colorful gardens that the owner will love and enjoy year-round.
